From May 9th to May 26th, Nuance Gallery is pleased to invite you to the exhibition of Rumen Rachev – “Interpretations”.
\nThe exhibition of paintings and drawings will present new works by the artist, where you’ll find whimsical interpretations of things from everyday life. Theatrically re-created scenes in which no specific events are mentioned, but the imaginary states of Rachev’s characters are suggested. These characters have a common energy charge and identity. They are placed in conditional situations, drink conditional martini, on conditional tables, all of which are part of a deliberate set-up. This layout of characters, spaces, and objects has been created for one purpose – in itself, still puzzled and abridged, to trigger a reaction. The characteristic neo-expressionism in combination with pop art and abstract elements continues the theme of the author in a slightly different discourse. The painting by Rumen Rachev eliminates the prejudice for the relationship between color and object. His paintings obey his own creative logic. The process of interpretation through the language of painting is an extraordinary experience for the artist. Images change color, tone, and even emotionally. Optimistic-depressive on the one hand, and on another merry and sunny, the exhibition will cause a game with the mood of the viewer.<\/p>\n

\nRumen Rachev was born April 25. In 1975 he graduated from art school in Sofiya.Prez 1982 graduated from the Art Academy in Sofia, “Illustration and Book Design.” He works mostly in the field of painting, print graphics, drawing, frescoes and design. His work is known both abroad and in Bulgaria. He has been living and working for more than eighteen years in Germany. His works are owned by public and private collections in the country and abroad. There are over 50 solo exhibitions behind it. Since 1988, he has performed solo exhibitions in the USA, Finland, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, England, Russia. In 1991, won the Honors Prize of the International Jury at the Toronto, Canada competition. After 1996 he exhibited in Bulgaria. His paintings are in the collections of the National Gallery in Sofia, Sofia City Art Gallery, the Museum of Modern Art and Library in New York, the Museum of New Orleans Bremen – Germany, Zurich – Switzerland and other public and private collections. Not indifferent remains virtuoso violinist Nigel Kennedy, who knew the art of Rumen Rachev, in 2000 invited him to do the layout of the disc, and won the music prize for classical music Brit, which is not only for performance but also for overall performance of the album.<\/p>\n
