Nuance Art Gallery was created in 2014 by the artists Lili Vladimirova and Emil Chushev.
From the very beginning, the gallery declared its important place in the cultural life of the capital – location in the city center, a wonderful architectural space, a team of professionals, very good contacts. The challenge – the co-existence of old masters, from the collection of the gallery with the active presentation of contemporary artists, through individual exhibitions. The art criterion is set high by the value of classical art. But contemporary artists presented by the gallery have serious merits in art mastership, devotion, honesty in creative research. Since the opening in 2014, over 50 exhibitions have been organized. The Gallery participates in the Night of Museums.
This year the gallery organizes the Second Edition of the Contemporary Bulgarian Art Contest.
Nuance Art Gallery offers a wide range of complementary services related to restoration, framing etc. (see the Art Services presentation).
Complementary activity of the gallery is the publishing and promotion of catalogs and books related to the visual arts.
Our team
Lili Vladimirova
Artist and owner of Nuance Art Gallery. (1967).
She graduated Mural Painting at National Academy of Arts in 1996, in the studio of Prof. Dimo Zaimov. In her creative career she has been working in the field of frescoes and Renaissance Orthodox paintings – frescoes and icons. Since 2014, as manager of Nuance Art Gallery she has assumed the responsible and noble mission to support the development of Bulgarian contemporary art. Respected and appreciated by her colleagues, she managed the art space to create one more home of Art in Sofia.
Emil Chushev
Manager of the gallery and restorer (1955).
He was born in the family of Georgi Chushev – icon painter and painter, one of the people who revived the iconography in the 60s of the last century. He graduated Restoration from National Art Academy and practices as a lecturer. He worked as a restorer at the National Art Gallery until 1993. After 1993 he created a studio for restoration and framing of art works. He has extensive experience in art gallery and auction house management. He is consultant for the maintenance of several significant collections and has its own art collection.
Neda Mitkovska
Gallerist (1991).
Graduates “Theatre Art” in 2015 from the National Academy of Theater and Film Arts “Krastio Sarafov” in Sofia, then specialized in art management and digital marketing at the Academy of Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia. She has deep interests in the field of visual arts and photography. In recent years, she has undertaken a number of trips across Europe, with the main purpose of visiting various cultural institutions and sharing good practices. Joined the team of Nuance Gallery in 2016.
