    Andrey Daniel was born in 1952 in the town of Rousse (Bulgaria).He graduated in Painting from the National Academy of Art, Sofia, in the studio ofProf. Dobri Dobrev (1977).  Since 1991 he has been an associate professor, and since 1997 a professor of painting at the National Academy of Art.

    He works mainly in the field of painting, but also in mural painting, scenography, graphics and book design. He has more than 150 participations in representative exhibitions in the country and abroad and over 40 publications. Author of the book “Things, Places and People”, 2011, Zahariy Stoyanov publishing House. Together with the creative contribution in the field of arts in Bulgaria, Prof. Andrey Daniel also participated actively in different periods in the management of significant organizations such as the National Academy of Art (Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Chief of the Department of Fine Arts, ), Union of Bulgarian Artists (member of the board and Deputy Chairman), Foundation “Supporting the Arts in Bulgaria” (chairman). He is currently Chairman of the National Assembly of the National Assembly. Member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (since 1979) member and founder of the group “The City” (1986), Corresponding member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (since 2015).

    His works are owned by the National Art Gallery, art galleries in the country, state and private collections abroad – Switzerland, Holland, Italy, Finland, Israel, Spain, France, England, USA, Germany, Canada, South Korea; National Art Gallery – Bratislava, Art Gallery – Szczecin, Dr Peter Ludwig Collection – Aachen and others.

    He is author of four frescoes in Varna. He has performed several stenographic projects in different theaters in Sofia.
    In 1996 he was the curator of the exhibition “Bulgarian Jewish Artists” under the auspices of the Jewish Museum in Vienna, Austria. Lives and works in Sofia.
