10 years Nuance Gallery
collective exhibition
January 09 – February 11 2024

The first exhibition, which we have the great pleasure to present to you in 2024, is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the opening of the gallery. As well as marking our birthday, the exhibition aims to pay tribute to the artists we have worked with all these years by presenting their works. The collective exhibition, which you can see from January 9 to February 11, will show a variety of genres in fine and applied art – painting, watercolor, drawing, graphics, sculpture and various techniques specific to each artist.
In the last decade, the gallery has hosted over 120 solo and collective exhibitions and curatorial projects with more than 80 artists. A very important part of our program is the contemporary art competition. The mission of each of it’s editions, already three of them, is to present and support the development of young people in the visual arts. The competition gives the public the opportunity to follow the work of familiar and unfamiliar names, and the gallery to work with them long-term. Among the significant projects of the gallery is the one with the palazzo “Misericordia di Venezia” during the Bulgarian presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2018, including the exhibition “Guardians” in Venice with curator Prof. Giuliano Pisani from boldly combined icons by Lili Vladimirova with sculptures by Krum Damyanov – a bridge between Orthodox icon painting and modern sculpture, between Bulgarian and Italian culture and spirituality. We have hosted exhibitions with foreign presence quite a few times, one of them being the International Watercolor Exhibitions, organized together with Watercolor Sofia, in which watercolor masters from all over the world take part, which gives the Bulgarian public the rare opportunity to touch their art.
We thank our audience, without whom we could not exist and who have been with us in these ten years. We will continue to delight you with valuable art that gives opportunities for reflection and meaningful conversations. We also thank all partners, journalists and media who have supported us over the years and continue to do so.
The exhibition will feature works by Albena Mihailova, Andrey Lekarski, Andrey Yanev, Atanas Matsurev, Blagitsa Zdravkovska, Boyko Kolev, Boris Gondov, Burcin Bashar, Valentin Angelov, Vasil Angelov, Vezhdi Rashidov, Velislava Gecheva, Vladimir Avramov, Vladimir Penev, Garo Muradyan, Gergana Minkova, Gredi Assa, Darina Yaneva, Desislava Mincheva, Jenny Ivanova, Dimitar Petrov, Dimitar Trukanov-Trukan, Dolores Dilova, Emanuela Kovach, Emil Stoychev, Zoran Mishe, Ivan Dimov, Ivan Kanchev, Ivan Mihailov-Zhani, Ivan Stratiev, Nina Ruseva, Nora Ampova, Onnik Karanfilyan, Petko Arnaudov, Petar Georgiev-Rey, Rosen Rashev, Rumen Rachev, Svetozar Benchev, Svilen Blazhev, Sergey Temerev, Silvia Bogoeva, Stanislav Belovski, Stefan Churchuliev, Stiliyan Dichev, Trendafila Trendafilova, Hari Arabyan, Hristo Kralev, Hristo Haralampiev, Tsvetelina Spiridonova, Yana Kostadinova and Yana Ljubenova.
With deep respect and reverence, we also mention the artists who, unfortunately, are no longer among us, but whose art we were able to share with our audience before parting with them – Andrey Daniel, Dora Boneva, Lyuben Zidarov, Mariana Maneva and Slav Bakalov .
Looking at the exhibition, in retrospect you will be able to trace not only the history of the gallery, but also that of the artists and their development. A large part of the works that we will present are precisely from the expositions with each artist.
